Reg Bamford back from the cold and Rob back at the top

Congratulations to Rob for regaining the #1 slot in the rankings. It is well deserved.

Some news on the North Pole Championships: Weather conditions were challenging (minus 24 degrees when the wind wasn't blowing), court conditions were soft underfoot which made playing the same hoop twice completely impossible, and the quality of play was poor. For the record, I beat Gordon Stein 2-0 (hoops, not games) in the final.

I picked up two minor ailments: mild frostbite in two of my toes, and mild snow blindness. Fortunately, I'm told, both injuries will heal completely and I'll be ready for my first tournament of the year.

More importantly, the trek reached its target of raising £278,000 for the construction of the School in Uganda for physically-handicapped AIDS orphans. A big thank you on behalf of those kids to those of you who donated to the charity (www.HopeHIV.org).
