Fourteen players gathered in Fulham for the Parsons Green One-Ball handicap tournament on 16 May, with handicaps ranging from 18 to -0.5. Pauline Duke ran the tournament in her usual friendly fashion (except towards those who tried to sneak off to watch the rugby) and the weather smiled upon the tournament once again.
Tony Fathers was the worthy winner, losing only once in nine games, while Philip Brabazon complied the longest break, of 7 hoops and the peg, made more impressive by the fact that he never once had a rush to his hoop, and had to approach 1-back from corner 3, and 3-back from the south boundary behind hoop 1.
