High Wycombe travelled to Northampton on a wet and miserable Saturday in June.

In the morning Northampton husband and wife pair of Les and Gill Carrick lost to Geoff Yourd and Dave Warhurst in a scrappy contest. Chris Donavan (HW) took an early lead over James Skelton and hung on to it to win despite James having a 10-hoop break and a chance to catch up after setting up a four ball break. In-form Roy Sheffield (Northampton) beat the off-form Peter Higgins. High Wycombe lead at lunch 2 -1.

The rain lashed down in the afternoon when equal handicapped James and Peter played with James winning. Despite his new mallet Chris Donavan could not beat Gill Carrick, her confidence renewed, beat him with a bisque to spare. David (High Wicombe) beat Les and Roy (Northampton) continued his winning form to beat Geoff Yourd.

Northampton won 4 - 3 and tea was taken in the clubhouse!
