As the member of the CA Tournament Committee with responsibility for 'A' Class events, I can confirm that the decision to share the Spencer Ell title was in accordance with the conditions for the event, so congratulations to Chris and Peter. Having acceded to the request to reduce the duration of the event from 5 days to 4, the committee changed the conditions to specify that a play-off would only be held if time permitted, in anticipation of this eventuality.

More generally, the committee is due to meet next month and will consider the format of this and the other 'A' class events. If there are any changes you would like made, please let me know in the next couple of weeks. An additional eight has already been suggested and the selection committee have been asked to consider the timing of their selections.

Views on the duration of the Spencer Ell from the players in this years event would be particularly welcome!
