Although originally scheduled to be held over 2 days, with advanced play on the Saturday and handicap on Sunday, due to a low entry, it was combined into a one day event.

The advanced competition was run as a straight knock-out with 8 players, best of 3, with a best of 5 final. The fitting finale was looking like a win for the manager, Kevin Carter, who led 2 games to 1, despite Chris Daniels making an all-round break to win game 2, thereby taking the prize of a bottle of champagne. In game 4, Kevin 2-balled to 3-back, but missed the roquet out of the hoop, and Chris managed to claw his way back to force a decider. With the initiative changing hands several times, Chris eventually came out on top to clinch the title.

The handicap event, run as a flexible Swiss, was keenly fought throughout. All competitors won at least 2 games and going into the final rounds, a handful of players could have taken first place. However, John Spiers, winning 9 out of 11, showed the most consistent form, and was the worthy victor.

Advanced

Winner: Chris Daniels
Runner-up: Kevin Carter

Handicap
