Pendle suffers a set-back

Quoting from THE RUSH, the Pendle Club's official newsletter:-

The Earby site is still very waterlogged and John Beech has been in contact with the Contractor and the Turf Association whose Chief Advisor has submitted a written report, which is in the hands of the Contractor.

The suggested remedial work will attract additional costs and could probably not commence until April 2005, unless we have a very dry winter.

Fortunately, we have been able to negotiate the use of the front two lawns at the College until the end of June 2005 with a faint possibility, if necessary, of an additional month.

Reading between the lines, it looks highly unlikely that the intended early 2005 CA Calendar Tournaments will take place.
