Blewbury in the previous round had beaten the 2004 champions, Colchester, and showed their fighting spirit pushing a strong Surbiton team to the final game where Samir finally ran out a clear winner. On handicap Blewbury were conceding an average of 4 bisques to their opponents. It was in recognition of their strong play that the following handicap changes were made:
