Swindon beat Reading 4-3

At the mid-point Swindon was ahead by a small margin 2-1. Reading's team talk at lunchtime produced the results with Jonathan Wood and Andy Robertson fending off the challenge of Ian Megaw and Cliff Cardis to pull ahead 3-2. The third game to finish, levelling the scores 3-3, John Airey beating Tim Masterton leaving the last game between the ladies to decide the winners of the match. Diana Trott, Swindon took an early lead against Paddy Bunch and was never caught and only faltering with three attempts to peg out to win her game and claim the match for Swindon.
