Norwich made a brisk start at Watford in the 2nd Round of the Longman cup and at the end of the morning play had established a 3-0 lead.

In the Afternoon the game quickly reversed and the home club clawed themselves back with two quick victories making it 3 - 2. In the two remaining games Watford appeared to be in control and looked if they might cause an upset by winning all four. However, Terrey Sparks managed to salvage the position by a late spurt and won his second game giving Norwich the required fourth victory.
