Nottingham beat Watford 4-3

[<<] [>>] by Michael Finnigan at Watford
18th June 2007 (AC - Secretary's Shield)

On heavy Watford lawns, kept that way by frequent serious showers, Nottingham, captained for the first time by William Gee, just managed to secure a 4-3 win in a very closely fought contest. Many games saw reversals of fortune, and at lunch Nottingham were 2-1 up, thanks to an excellent comeback by Nigel Hames-Keward against Quiller Barratt. By mid afternoon, despite a fine win by William Gee, who eventually rediscovered his normal hitting in skills against Ian Parkinson, Nottingham were facing the prospect of defeat until Don Martin, trailing for most of the match, snatched an improbable victory from Quiller Barratt. to secure the match win.
