Cross-Pennine challenge retained by West

This year's cross-Pennine challenge, contested by a team drawn from the North West against the combined Croquet North & Yorkshire Federations, took place at Pendle & Craven on Sun 23rd Sept. Many thanks are owed to this club (in particular Abdul Ahmed) for hosting the event and laying on excellent food! The 3-lawn match format mixes advanced doubles and singles, with three handicap singles. The results (NW names first) were:

Ken Cooper & Robin Delves beat Andy Davies & Alice Fleck +3t
James Hawkins & Tony Thomas lost to Charles Waterfield & Roger Staples -24
Roger Schofield & Tony Phillips beat Phil Errington & Derek Knight +13
