As the mist cleared on New Year's Day from both the lawns and the night before, Surbiton club members dug out their mallets for the annual FrostBite tournament. Played as handicap one-ball, with players from -2 to 18, the quick lawns for the time of year (9 seconds) provided ample opportunity for breaks and more experimental shots, with the roll to hoop 1 from corner IV becoming popular with practice. After several rounds, the manager decreed a final on lawn 3, with Chris Farthing (pictured in play) losing out to Bob Prichard.
