14th April 2008 (CqE Official News)

Inter-Club (Holders Bristol)

Ten clubs have entered this year. In the First Round, Colchester play Woking, winners to meet Cheltenham, and Nottingham play Hurlingham, winners to play Bristol. The Second Round contains Wrest Park against Sussex County, and Bowdon against Surbiton.

Mary Rose (Holders Pendle and Craven)

Sixteen clubs have entered this year, so the draw is again in two sections. Ties are newcomer Guildford & Godalming v Surbiton, Colchester v Woking, Medway v Sussex County, Dulwich v Hurlingham, Nottingham v Cheltenham, Bristol v Pendle & Craven, Bath v East Dorset and Bowdon v Wrest Park.

Secretary's Shield (Holders Kington Langley)

Holders Kington Langley (SW) join the nine qualifiers from the Federations to compete for the Shield. In the First Round, Dyffryn play Chester, winners to play Nottingham, and Huddersfield play Watford, winners to play High Wycombe. The Second Round contains Kenilworth against Canterbury and Kington Langley against Belsay Hall.

Longman Cup (Holders Fylde)

The 40 entries have been put into four sections to keep the draw reasonably regional. The sequence of sections in the draw was itself drawn, with East / London, South-West / Wales, North / Midlands, South / South-East being the result. Holders Fylde play Bowdon, while runners-up Dyffryn play Bristol. Third-placed Woking play Guildford & Godalming, while Norwich play Newport, Essex. The two newcomers Shrewsbury and Littleton, have been draw together.

The full draws, with dates for completing each round, and the usual letter giving details, are being circulated to club contacts, and are available on the CA Website under Tournaments. The letter includes the regulations for selecting a venue and date for a match, and how to handle a match should bad weather intervene.

Wrest Park hosts the Finals Weekend on 4th and 5th October.
