Letchworth Croquet Club has been successful in a grant application for £928 for coaching equipment. The 100% grant was given by Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation who also supported the creation of the Club's two lawns with a grant of over £10,000 three years ago.

The money has been used to acquire two sets of hoops, pegs and Dawson third colour balls which were supplied by the CA Shop and three Percival Club mallets. This enables the club to set out four half sized lawns for coaching purposes. The club is also encouraging Golf Croquet players to learn Association Croquet and the smaller lawns make it easier for people to understand and apply break making techniques.

Letchworth already has 60 members with a further 10 on an introductory coaching course. The lawns are maturing well and are now amongst the best in the region. Vacancies exist for AC players looking for flat lawns and tight hoops.
