Hurlingham Mid Week Veterans' Tournament Results

David Wedmore and Sue Strong won their respective divisions in the Hurlingham Mid Week Veterans' Tournament.

There were two divisions - one for the over 80s where 6 players (strictly speaking seven as two did a pantomime horse act) battled it out, with David Wedmore of Ealing emerging the winner with four wins out of five over Peter Cole of Rother Valley also on four wins out of five but having lost to David Wedmore.

The 16 under-80s played a six-round Swiss. Sue Strong of Surbiton put in a very polished performance winning all 6 of her games to win the event. Arthur Reed of Watford came second with five wins out of six, and John Williams just beat John Bowcott, both of Hurlingham, into third place, both with four wins.
