Ashby travelled to Letchworth to contest the first round of the Golf Croquet Inter-Club Competition. The team captains were father and son, Ray for Ashby, Nick for Letchworth. When the morning singles matches finished, the doubles pairings had only completed their first very tactical game (7-6 to Ashby) so it was decided to play the remaining singles after lunch and then resume the doubles if necessary. Afternoon wins by Will and Rachel means Ashby will play Auckland in the next round.
