Marcus Evans won the Sidmouth GC Tournament

Two young men from Nailsea dominated the fourth Sidmouth Golf Croquet Tournament, with Marcus Evans defeating Ryan Cabble in a closely fought final - a disappointment for Ryan, ending as runner-up for the second year running, but with the consolation of seeing his handicap come down to scratch.

On the first day the 16 players were divided into two blocks, with all playing all in single 13 point games. On day 2 the top four from each block went into a three round best of three knockout, with a flexible swiss consolation event which the losing quarter-finalists were able to join. Apart from a brief shower during the final the weather was fine, if a bit on the chilly side, and the lawns were in excellent condition.
