Samantha Thompson won the 9th Womens Open at The Ripon Spa Hotel, beating Maggie Crossland in two straight games.

Twenty one ladies played in three blocks of seven. Friday and Saturday saw the completion of the blocks.

The quarter finals were played on Sunday morning, followed by the semis where Samantha Thompson beat Freda Vitty by two games to one. Maggie Crossland beat Jane Collier two games to one.

Kath Burt won the consolation Swiss.
