The forecast "rain later" held off long enough for a closely fought match to complete. After Ashby took a morning lead of 2-0 and the doubles stood tied at 1-1, Broadwas came out strongly in the afternoon winning all four singles and the final match of the uncompleted doubles. The lawns played straight and true despite being quite brown after the good weather. All players enjoyed a lovely lunch and tea whilst reflecting on the many games that went the full distance.
