Broadwas beat Dyffryn 6-1

[<<] [>>] by Stuart Smith at Broadwas
10th July 2011 (GC - Murphy Shield)

Broadwas, starting the defence of their Golf Croquet Inter-Club Shield (The
Murphy Shield) after a first round walk-over, won at home against Dyffryn
6-1 on Sunday 10 July. The morning session belonged to Broadwas with
wins in the doubles and both singles; all three matches being won 2-0 in
games. Dyffryn lunched knowing that they needed to win all four singles in
the afternoon but only Sarah Melvin was able to take a point for the
visitors. John Barber?s 100% Murphy Shield record continues and has
been extended to eight games for which he earned a handicap reduction to
3. Another excellent tea followed and co-incidentally Dyffryn return next
Sunday to play a South-West Federation league GC match and a chance
for revenge.
