Croquet Marathon Completed

The Ripon Spa Hotel Croquet Club successfully completed its 48 hour continuous croquet marathon in aid of the transplant unit of the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle ,where one of the players had a double lung transplant only one year ago . Eight players played singles against each other in 2 hour stints , with the following pair starting as soon as the timer beeped for the end of the previous pair to stop . All the games were 19 points and when timed out the current score in that game stood. The Guinness Book of records will be made aware of the following statistics for games of croquet single banked on one full size lawn:

Total number of games finished and partially finished 87 .

Total number of hoops scored 1240 . 25.83 hoops per hour . 2mins 32secs per hoop .

Most hoops scored in a2 hour period 80 . Time per hoop 1min 30 secs per hoop . Jacob Carr and Fergus Thompson 45 / 35 respectively.

Daytime hoops scored 6am - 6pm 666 , 53.71%

Night hoops scored 6pm - 6am using hoop lights 574 , 46 29%
