Mary Rose: Pendle and Craven beat Nottingham 4-2

After all the rain the Pendle lawns were just about playable, and under a scorching sun became sticky in places. But the forecasted storm arrived a couple of hours early and the match had to be abandoned with Pendle 2-1 up.

Peter Wilson lost to Peter Moore

Doubles unfinished.

With there being apparently no regulations to cover such a situation, the tournament director asked for the unfinished games to be replayed, not necessarily with the same players, and allowed a couple of weeks' extension for it to take place.
