A well matched field of eight took part in a single game 'all play all' block on Saturday. The weather was poor but the spirits were high as the seeding for the Sunday was established in this block. Andrew Dymond and John Moore were both in excellent form during the early stages but faded as the weather deteriorated. After an early loss to Nick Cheyne, Harry Dodge always seemed to be the 'player to beat' although Howard Cheyne was a threat to all throughout.

The knock out rounds were played in much better weather on the Sunday. Harry gained his revenge over Nick by winning their semi-final in two games while Howard beat Don Beck in 2 games as well to set up a very competitive final. Howard won the opening game but Harry went on to a well deserved victory by 5-7, 7-4 and 7-2.
