Nick Mounfield won the Letchworth GC Level Tournament

Letchworth's Nick Mounfield saw off all opposition to win the June GC Level Tournament on his home ground. Coming top of his group in the block stage and beating John Noble 7-4 in his semi-final, Nick went on to beat Paul Gunn 10-3 in the final. Paul, handicap 5, had played exceptionally well throughout, and far better than his handicap suggests. He beat Christine Mounfield 7-6 in a close-run semi-final, and so prevented an all Mounfield final. But on the day he was no match for Nick who looked to be on excellent form.
