Andy Brandwood won the Edgbaston Advanced Weekend

31 Aug 2015 (AC)

Andy Brandwood returned to Edgbaston on 30/31 August to defend the Sally Nichols trophy for our B Class event. Although a narrow winner on a split tie last year he won all five games in fine style including a tp against highest-ranked entrant Clive Goode. Bank Holiday rain delayed the Monday start but did not prevent sufficient play.

Several games produced close endings including a ten-hoop break with two peels needed by Sylvia Steer in her time turn to beat husband Mike. Tony Whateley (for peg-and-peg) hit a fine peg-and-4-back leave by Adrian Morris to win.

Andy Brandwood (2) 5/5
Clive Goode (1) 3/5
Paul Swaffield (3) 3/5
Tony Whateley (4.5) 3/5
Malcolm Daines (5) 3/5
Adrian Morris (2) 2/5
Mike Steer (4.5) 2/5
Sylvia Steer (6) 2/5
Graham Saunders (7) 2/5
Paul Trafford (6) 0/5
