GCWTC: Tier 1: Day 5: Egypt bt England 11-2

England suffered a whitewash at the hands of the Egyptians on the 5th day of Tier 1 of the GC World Team Championship at Surbiton, losing a doubles and six singles to end their semi-final 11-2 down. In the other semi-final, New Zealand were almost as dominant over Ireland, ending their match 10-1 up, with two left unplayed.

In the Plate, USA beat South Africa and Wales drew with Sweden, to leave USA and Sweden to contest the 5/6th play-off and South Africa and Wales in the relegation test.

The final, between Egypt and New Zealand, will be another best of 13 test match played; the remaining play-off tests will be best of 9 matches, all played over the next two days.
