Delia and Ian Norris won the GC Handicap Doubles Tournament

Twelve pairs contested this Handicap GC Doubles event held at Hurlingham on Bank Holiday Monday, with entries from Enfield, Guildford & Godalming, Merton, Nailsea, Phyllis Court, Reigate Priory, Surbiton, Watford and Hurlingham. Handicaps ranged from -1 to 10.

After six rounds of Swiss the winners with 5 wins were Delia (6) and Ian Norris (-1) from Phyllis Court, retaining their title and awarded Hurlingham Glass Goblets. Congratulations to them. In second place, also on 5 wins but losing narrowly to the Norris' in their head to head, were Clare Benson (3) and Tony Bingham (1) of Hurlingham, awarded Hurlingham Whisky Tumblers.

The event was played in beautiful sunny weather and all complimented the club on its excellent lawns and its members on their hospitality.
