Christine Searle won the Grass Roots final at Nottingham

Sixteen competitors visited the Nottingham CC for the final of the Grass Roots golf croquet event on a sunny Sunday. Block play for the first 3 games gave 4 winners who then competed for semi-final and final positions. The same procedure was used for those coming 2nd, 3rd and 4th in their blocks.
Christine Searle from Phyllis Court CC won the event beating Ann Wotherspoon from Eynsham.
The order of the remaining players was: John Horne, Mike Nightingale, John Suckling, Linda Williams, Chris Lyons, Carol Reding, David Goff, Willie Robb, Jill Glenn, Roger Booth, Pam Tillett, Margaret Shah, Pauline Wood and Jean Oldfield.
John Horne earned a handicap reduction from 7 to 6.
