Tony Lee won Hunstanton GC B-Level Tournament

Eighteen entrants from an over-subscribed entry gathered at Hunstanton on Saturday 1st July for this years 'B' Level Qualifying (GC) tournament. Split into groups of three with the block winners plus the best runner-up proceeding through to a semi-final knock out.

The group winners turned out to be Michael Bilton, Henry Hobbs and Tony Lee all on a maximum of 5 wins each. However, in determining the best runner-up proved to be a little more difficult for the manager as three players each stood on three wins a piece which meant that a count back to determine who went through. This turned out to be Paul Durkin on +2, closely followed by Janet Carpenter +1 and Derek Buxton -4.

The first semi-final turned out be between Tony Lee and Paul Durkin in which Tony ran out the winner 7-6, whilst in the second match Michael Bilton overcame Henry Hobbs 7-5. In the following final in a very close match Tony after some very determine play ran out the overall winner against Michael 7-4. Whilst in the 3rd/4th place match Paul overcame Henry 7-5.

2nd: Michael Bilton - Richmond Park
3rd: Paul Durkin - Long Eaton
4th: Henry Hobbs - Long Eaton
