Hurlingham lost to Merton 3-4.

Every bit as close as the score suggests, with Hurlingham recovering from being 0-3 at lunch. All good wins for Merton but the afternoon was a different story.
As the Merton team looked around it seems only the Hurlingham players were on the lawns. Merton found the winning rubber (26-22) and the final game finished with sudden death, with all the participants gather round the rule book deciding when time had been called.
