WCF move to rename Golf Croquet

[<<] [>>] by Bill Arliss
8th November 2002 (GC)

The WCF is proposing that the following item be included on the agenda for the Council meeting to be held in Wellington during the forthcoming world Association Croquet Championships in December of this year.

The Council meeting recommends that the Rules of the WCF be amended so that the words Golf Croquet wherever they are appearing in the Rules be deleted and replaced with other words:

the second of which shall be "Croquet", and

Subject to the first part of motion being agreed too the first word shall be "Egyptian"

If this motion is passed by Council there would still be a need to submit a definite proposal to members by postal vote to change the Rules of the WCF.

Unfortunately your CA Council will have no time to debate this matter before the meeting but from the feedback that the CA Golf Croquet Committee has received throughout the year it would appear that such a change would not be welcomed by the vast majority of the golf croquet players in the UK. Your thoughts on this matter would be much appreciated. Please contact me on bill.arliss_AT_ntlworld.com or by telephone on 01273 728204.
