Ian Burridge wins Hunstanton round of GC Open Series 23 May 2021

Ian Burridge (Nottingham) won this event in a gripping final against Simon Carter (Dulwich and President of Hunstanton). This was a reversal of fortunes from the previous day in which Simon won B Block without loss, putting Ian in second place. One of the other semi-finalists came from the A Block won by David Bell (Leicester), who went on to take third place overall beating John Noble (Letchworth) into fourth place in a single 19 point game. The 5th-8th place matches were not completed due to bad weather, but Jayne Stevens (Northampton) took fifth place on net hoop difference from Les Heard (Northampton) in sixth, with Nick Archer (Watford) in seventh and Euan Burridge (Nottingham) in eighth place. The Plate was won by Jane Humphreys (Sussex County) with wins in four of the scheduled seven rounds. The Plate being curtailed, due to the withdrawal of three players (one for medical reasons).
