Callum Johnson won 23rd International GC Lancashire Open

[<<] [>>] by Paul Rigge at Pendle
18th July 2022 (GC)

A Loyal few started block play on newly set courts, supplied (like last year) on a rock hard freshly mown sun-parched surface cut to 4mm...Fast, very fast.
The original schedule was discarded, after discussion with the players and the decision made to resolve matters within a single day - to avoid the forecasted 'Extreme Heat' event and the UK's declared first 'Red National Heat Emergency'.

And so to the play in the baking 27oC heat, Single all-play-all block to sort out full seeding order for KO title race.
Semi-finals were Bo3, but both only needed first two games to allow progression.
However the final & fight for the other two Ascot point places both required all three games allowed to resolve.

Callum Johnson improved on last year's 3rd spot to get his hands on the 'David Hopkins' Bon Bon dish.
Final Ascot finishing order; Johnson, Rigge, Libby Dixon from Ted Flexman
