Sussex County lost to Watford 2-4

After two postponements because of heavy rain and waterlogged courts, the GC Inter-Club semi-final between Sussex County and Watford finally took place on 14th September. At first it appeared that there might be yet another wash-out as heavy rain was again encountered in the early morning en route to Southwick, but it was third time lucky: the rain eased by the start of play, and there was only an occasional slight drizzle to contend with for the rest of the day, which didn't interfere with play. Watford emerged victorious at 4-2 with the last rubber left uncompleted once the match result was decided.
