In breezy and quite chilly but dry conditions in Cassiobury Park, Watford won the match with
a score-line that didn't reflect the closeness of many of the games. Although on paper
Watford had a significantly stronger team, 3 of the 7 rubbers were only decided by the
third game, and 11 of the 17 games played were only decided on the 12th or 13th hoop.
