Peterborough beat Newport 4-3

A cloudy but rain free day welcomed the Newport team to Peterborough. A wide range of handicaps had turned out for both teams, resulting in some interesting matches. Peterborough won the day, largely thanks to newcomer Justin Beaumont. Justin only started playing last year and has some tactical learning still to do, but his stroke play is excellent. Ably assisted by Ian in the morning the two of them won the doubles, and then Justin masterly ran some brilliant hoops, at all lengths and angles, to win his match against Fran, this despite not realising that rushing onto the peg is end of turn. Fran tried to keep him away from the peg and was catching up, but eventually stuck in 2b leaving Justin an easy 1 yard peg out to win.
