3rd July (GC - Championships)

The British Open GC is being held at Southwick with fast lawns and a new set of Quadway hoops firmly set. Nineteen pairs played in two blocks.

After two fierce and protracted semis the finalists emerged as Reg Bamford & Tobi Savage vs Will Gee & Jack Good. There was a great deal of clearing and long hoop running, even on the miserly Quadways, which saw Reg & Tobi victorious 7-4,7-5.

The Plate was won by the Spanish pair Eduardo Nunez & Angel Nunez. Then as the sun began to set, Stephen Mulliner & Jenny Clarke overcame Chris Clarke & Ian Burridge by a margin of one hoop to take the Shield.
