Eight players gathered in Exhibition Park, Newcastle upon Tyne for the Annual CqE Advanced Tournament, and enjoyed dry & mild weather on both days. In the absence of the designated Manager, a big thank you to Terry Vernazza who stepped in to keep order and ensured everything went well over the weekend
Played as an "all play all" format and to ensure that all the games could be completed in a reasonable time it was decided to play 2 x 26 point, 2.5 hours games and 2 x 18 point (all clips on hoop 5), 2 hours games on the Saturday. On Sunday we played 2 x 26 point, 2.5 hours games and 1 x 18 point, 2 hours game thus ensuring each player had 7 games each over the weekend.

Staples beat Shanks 6, Pratt beat Millener +10, Simmerson beat Vernazza +13, Errington beat Scarr +1t (16-15).
Dennis Scarr, Mark Simmerson and Roger Staples all finished on 5 wins each. Dennis had beaten Roger, Mark had beaten Dennis and Roger had beaten Mark!
So Dennis Scarr was declared the winner of the tournament on the basis of having scored more hoop points than either Roger or Mark.
