Peter Allan (until October 2025)
Peter took up the sport of croquet shortly before he retired in 2016 and he quickly fell in love with it. While AC is his passion, he enjoys playing GC as well, plus an increasing amount of SC. Something he finds very attractive about croquet is the mixture of physical skills and tactical planning needed to win a game. Once he started to become competent at playing, he realised that if he applied himself to the game thoroughly then he could get quite good at it. His motto is "scratch by Christmas, I'm just not saying which Christmas". He is still on his journey to scratch, aided by some excellent coaches and mentors.
Peter takes the view that croquet is a sport that can be enjoyed at many levels. He feels that if you wish to play friendly games within your club, that is absolutely fine. If you relish the challenge of competing in your internal club competitions, or in your Federation leagues, or in national competitions, then he wishes you every success. He adds that, if you have the ability to compete internationally, that is terrific. He trusts that you will tell the rest of the community how you do it.
Peter is a member of the croquet clubs at Blewbury and at Harwell, and he is the Southern Croquet Federation Development Officer. As such, he attends the monthly CA Federation Focus Group Zoom meetings. He is also a club level coach and he is keen to help players improve to the best of their ability.

The Southern Council constituency covers the area of the Southern Federation.
Election Cycle
The next election for this constituency fell due in summer 2022. Peter Allan was re-elected unopposed.
