Ahmed scores anther hoop in the 2004 final |
THE MGM ASSURANCE 6TH WCF WORLD GOLF CROQUET
CHAMPIONSHIP ENGLAND
2004
A new star has risen in the Egyptian camp. Ahmed Nasr who
is at present serving with the Egyptian army, cruised through to a straight
three sets victory in the final of the championship against New Zealand's
Dennis Bulloch,7-4,7-3, 7-1. Dennis who is better known for his performance
in Association Croquet competitions was not able to counter the extremely
accurate and high speed hoop running of this young Egyptian. Time and time
again Ahmed ran hoops from 15 to 20 ft at extreme angles and cleared Dennis
from hoop running positions with 20-30 yard shots. On today's performance
there is no doubt that Ahmed will emulate the previous champion Khalid
Younis who has won the title three times. Khalid finished third in this
championship with a victory over Ireland's Mark McInerney 7-4, 7-5.
