The Watford courts were dry and fast, and hoop approaches were tricky. Reigate had a 2-1 lead after the morning session but were unable to hold onto their lead in the afternoon. Although all the afternoon games were quite closely contested, and all went to time in the difficult conditions, Watford managed to win 3 out of 4 singles and emerged the winners by a narrow margin.
