Maggie Cowman from Ripon Spa Croquet Club won the 2011 Centre Stage national final.
Fourteen finalists from eight clubs from all over the country competed for the Centre Stage trophy, a GC competition for medium handicap players, (handicap range 5 - 8). All the players had fought their way through club elimination rounds to reach this final stage of the competition.
Some very competitive games in the initial league stage produced four clear leaders who then went on to a four player knock-out stage.

Maggie Cowman beat John Noble from Letchworth CC in the final by 7-4.

Maggie had scored a tightly contested victory in the semi-finals, beating Rosemary Longbottom from Rippon Spa CC by 7-6, whilst John had beaten Alan Plested from Bury St Edmonds CC by 7-4.

All-in-all a very enjoyable day, played in great spirit by all concerned.
