Peel Memorial Bowls

[<<] [>>] by Dr Ian Vincent at Nottingham
18th May 2014 (AC - Handicap)

The Peels had a larger entry than in the last few years, who were rewarded with four days of warm sunshine on its first visit to Nottingham for at least 40 years. The entry ranged in experience from at least two playing in their first tournament, through to one who first played at the club 50 years ago, and in handicap from scratch to 20.

The mixed doubles was won by Clare Benson and Nelson Morrow; Wendy Spencer Smith and John Bee were runners up. Beatrice McGlen won the Ladies Bowl, beating Patricia Duke-Cox in the final (and Sophie McGlen, her daughter, in the semi-final). John Bee was also runnerup in the Mens, but it was won by Omied Hallam, who dedicated the win to the memory of his late father, Brian.
