30 Jul 2014 (AC - Handicap)

Thanks to the support of the CA with a grant to help the Club move to a new lawn, Norwich Croquet Club was able to return to the Tournament scene this year with a running of the Chalkhill Mallet Handicap event.

Handicaps ranged from -2.5 to 20. Robert Fulford amazed, when amongst the balls, with Octuple attempts although 3 players can now say that they 26'd R Fulford!

With only 2 Lawns available the manager kept the 10 players constantly on their toes and on the courts with 30 games played over the weekend, Club member, Sarah Barley ( 4/5) was runner up in her first ever C A tournament losing her only game of the weekend to the Winner Ian Draper (5/5) of Nottingham.

The Catering team found the new Clubhouse shared with the bowling club a delight and went so far as to offer waitress service. Jonathan Toye took advantage of a short interval between games on Sunday afternoon to ride the miniature train (the line goes past the lawns).

We look forward to welcoming visitors to next year's Chalkhill Mallet.
