Dulwich beat Watford at Woking to win the 2014 Golf Croquet Inter-Club Championship 5-2

[<<] [>>] by John Bowcott at Woking Croquet Club
27th September 2014 (GC - Inter-Club)

Watford made a rapid start as Nick Archer and the fast improving Jason Carley beat Simon Carter and Pierre Beaudry in 2 straight games. With the morning Singles shared Watford must have been the happier team at lunch. However, after the excellent meal prepared by Woking Club members it was Dulwich that came out the stronger for the decisive afternoon Singles. Simon and Pierre avenged their morning defeat in 2 high quality matches in front of a burgeoning crowd. These two matches always seemed likely to determine the tie but nevertheless the adjacent lawn also provided much entertainment before the last two games also went to Dulwich.

Well done to all the players for an enthralling Final and many thanks to Woking for being such splendid hosts.

Congratulations to Dulwich for a worthy win by 5 matches to 2.
