Susan Fulford won the Colchester Midweek Handicap

Susan Fulford won the Colchester Midweek handicap ending Thursday 11th August. The tournament was played as a Flexible Swiss, and veteran John Andrews, sticking to two games a day, but winning all of them, led for the whole of the tournament up till the final game against Susan.

Susan had lost a game on day one to David Haslam, who up to that point had shared the lead with John, but she squeezed in a third game on day two. Both she and John won their morning games on day 3, setting up the last game for the tournament, John on 100% (5 out of 5) and Susan on 83% (5 out of 6). Susan scraped home +3 on time, achieving a narrow victory of 86% against John's 83%

Third place went to Mike Bowser on 71% (5 wins from 7). Charles Ostler won his Silver Award.
