Current holders Enfield continued their 2017 Longman Cup campaign with a visit to Blewbury on 29th July, and came away with a good victory, by 5 games to 2. Scores (Enfield names first):

David Frost (4.5) and Brian Dawes (18) lost to David Spear (8) and David Seed (14) 19-20 (T).
John Street (8) lost to Paul Wolff (3.5) 23-25 (T).
Michael Broadway (14) beat Deirdre Cochrane (4) 26-9.
Afternoon
David Frost beat Paul Wolff 26-11.
John Street beat Deirdre Cochrane 26-19.
Michael Broadway beat David Spear 26-1.
Brian Dawes beat David Seed 26-10.
2-1 down at lunch Enfield came back in the afternoon by winning all 4 singles. This was probably fuelled by the fine lunch provided by the hosts. A fine day's croquet, played on the magnificent lawns at Blewbury. The only downside was the rain from half way through the afternoon.
