To assist coaches, and players, to measure the various skills required by a GC player, the CqE Coaching Committee has developed a standardised method of assessment, termed the GC Skills Assessment.

Full details of how to use this new tool are available for downloading from the CqE Coaching resources webpage.

It is intended that this tool will:

Assist a player to identify their strongest and weakest skills.

Establish a benchmark against which a player's progress can be measured.

Serve as a benchmark for Duke of Edinburgh scheme croquet awards.

Eventually when enough data has been assembled, be used as a guide to setting an initial handicap.

The Coaching Committee encourages coaches to explore how this new tool can enhance their own coaching.
