Introduction to Croquet England for New Subscribers
If you are new to Croquet England, it may be because you have joined as a Premium Associate, or because your club has enrolled you as a Standard Associate. In either case: welcome to Croquet England!
As an Associate, you can access the members-only part of the website by logging in. If you haven't yet established a login password, full instructions are below.
In the Subscribers' Area, you can access the Directory. You might like to try finding your own details, and make sure they say what you would expect - there's an edit button on your details tab. You can also introduce yourself to others by setting up a personal profile. For those wishing to get more involved in supporting Croquet England's activities there is also the option of becoming a Voting Member.
You can also read both the current and past editions of the Croquet Gazette online. Most subscriber packages include your own copy arriving through the post unless you specifically tell us you don't want it.
You can also enter tournaments if you want to try competitive play. Premium Associates get a discount on the entry fees, so if you are interested in playing in several of these you'll be better off becoming a Premium Associate (in your details, view your Croquet England subscription in your Memberships tab).
Croquet England does many things to help support ordinary club play, as well as helping to organise the tournament scene. We:
- provide grants to clubs to help them develop their facilities
- maintain the laws of the games and their handicapping systems
- help to develop the equipment we all use
- provide coaching through our coaching accreditation service and the Croquet Academies
- produce programmes for self-development
- run an online shop.

If you wish to support Croquet England in the ongoing development of the game we love, you could become a Supporter Associate. Full details are on the Join Croquet England page.
Logging in to the Croquet England Website for the First Time
To log in, you will need your registered email address and a password. If you share an email address, the system distinguishes between you by the password you use.
If you are a new Croquet England Standard Associate you will already have an account set up by your club secretary, but your password will not yet be set. Click the Log In button (at the top of every page) and select 'Set a new password' then follow the instructions. If you share your email address, you will be asked who you want to set the password for.
If the system does not recognise your email address, then check with your club secretary to make sure they have provided Croquet England with your details.
Changing or Setting Your Password
If you don't know your password, or want to change it, follow the above procedure 'Set a new password''.
If you are logged in and want to change your password, visit your details and select the Admin tab.
Going Paperless
New Croquet England Standard Associates receive a free paper copy of the Croquet Gazette for their first full subscription year. If you do not want your Croquet Gazette, you have the option to decline it by 'going paperless'. This may be the case where your household already gets a copy, or if you would prefer to read it online. We want to encourage everyone to get the paper copy so that friends and family can also read about croquet, so please only take this option if you are sure.
To go paperless, log in and click on your name at the top of the screen to view your details. Go to your Memberships tab and click to view your Croquet England subscription - then click Change Membership or Options.
You will no longer receive the paper gazette, but you can still access the latest Gazette online (after logging in). You can receive an email with a quick link whenever a new copy of the Gazette comes out, unless you unsubscribe to these emails by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of an alert email. You can opt back into getting alerts again at any time by selecting the option on your details page.
If you have gone paperless and decide you want the paper copy after all, then please contact the office who will discuss the options with you.
After your first year of Croquet England subscription, to receive the Gazette you need to be a pay-direct Subscriber (Premium, Supporter, etc.) - full details are on the Join Croquet England page.
