Colours for New AC Clips

In 2005, the preferred colours for balls were specified using the Natural Colour System (NCS). These remain our specification for tournament croquet balls. More recently, the Equipment Committee sought reasonable matching shades with which to repaint AC clips, which for convenience of club equipment officers, we specified in popularly available small-tin enamel paint colours.

To aid clip manufacturers, we have now also specified preferred colours for new clips, specified in two colour matching systems popular in the printing, paint and materials industries: RAL and Pantone. Note that there are often no precise equivalents, and so these are reasonable and acceptable matches. The RAL and Pantone colours should not be used to specify balls - instead use the NCS originals from which these others have been derived. When there are multiple colour standards shown, the highlighted one is preferred.
